Overview
Richard is an award-winning Community Paediatrician working full time as an NHS consultant in North Bristol. As of June 2023 he is the lead Community Paediatrician for ADHD in Bristol, South Gloucester and North Somerset.
Richard specialises in the identification and assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions including ADHD and Autism.
Richard is passionate about improving the assessment and management of these conditions and acts as an advisor for and is featured on BBC bitesize on managing ADHD. Richard has been involved in a number of local and national media (including 5 live) to help parents who might have questions about ADHD and other conditions.
Richard’s research has been awarded the Neonatal Society award as well as the Bristol Academy of Childhood Disability MacKeith Prize. He was selected as a Castang fellow for the British Academy of Childhood Disability in 2018; and was given the Royal College of Paediatrics Paul Polani Award in 2019 for his work on anaemia in neurodevelopmental disorders.
Richard is proud to launch Bristol independent Community Paediatrics (BICP) as a private provider offering CQC approved neurodevelopmental conditions including assessments for autism and ADHD.
