Overview
Dr Slinn is a popular psychiatrist with more than twenty years experience. She qualified in medicine from St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London in 1991. She had experience in general medicine and general practice before training in psychiatry in the South West. She is a specialist in general adult and old age psychiatry. She has been a consultant since 2001 working in the NHS until 2012 and then in the independent sector. She has extensive experience of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all common psychiatric conditions.
She has a particular interest in the presentation of mental health problems in older adults including memory problems and dementia.
She also has an interest in employee wellbeing and works alongside occupational health with large local public service and private employers.
Dr Sinn’s research interests and publications have addressed suicidal thinking in those with dementia, short cognitive analytic therapy for self -harm and training in community psychiatry.
She believes strongly in giving individuals as much information as possible so that they can make informed choices about treatment.
Dr Slinn also has a medico- legal practice and is available to give expert opinion for the courts, tribunal services and individuals as well as capacity assessments for wills and the like.
