Overview
Dr Leanne Hayward is an engaging and approachable Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years post-qualification experience. She qualified in Medicine (MBChB) from Leicester Medical School in 2001 and gained Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2010. She completed her Medical Leadership Masters (MBA equivalent) from Warwick Business School in 2014, and her Medico-Legal Expert Witness training in 2023.
She had experience in Palliative Care and Public Health before training in Psychiatry in the South West and has completed specialist training in General Adult, Liaison, Perinatal and Adult ADHD Psychiatry. She worked as an NHS consultant psychiatrist from 2014 – 2020, held medical and clinical lead posts and was appointed Clinical Lead of the NHS-England South West Perinatal Clinical Network 2017-2019 before moving into private practice.
Dr Hayward has significant experience providing General Psychiatric care to adults of all ages, and is a specialist in the diagnosis and management of women and their families before, during and after pregnancy and in Adult ADHD. She has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist on Inpatient and Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, with a Community Crisis team and on an Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit. She also has experience in the Management of Mental illness associated with Long-Term health Conditions, incl. Diabetes. Dr Hayward has a special interest in Workplace Mental health and Public Education.
She has extensive experience of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all common psychiatric conditions and some specialist conditions.
