Dr Helen McCarthy
Dr McCarthy is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who worked initially in the NHS and is now in full-time private practice.
She has three particular areas of speciality:
1. Using Appetite Retraining, she helps people to change their eating habits in order to lose weight permanently. This alternative to dieting involves relearning how to use your body’s natural hunger and fullness signals to guide your eating. This is achieved by identifying your unhelpful eating habits, changing them one at a time and addressing and overcoming any mental blocks which may have prevented you from losing weight in the past.
